Vice President of Sierra Leone, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, a seasoned public servant with a track record of delivering on key government priorities, Tuesday 11 February 2025, visited Connaught Hospital to evaluate progress on major healthcare projects aimed at strengthening the country’s health system.
His tour included the construction site of the much-anticipated Burns Unit, the installation of a 1MW Solar Energy System to improve energy supply at the facility, and the operationalization of the Electronic Medical Records system, a transformative initiative launched by his office a year ago.
VP Juldeh Jalloh also inspected the new microbiology lab, dialysis center, and trauma units, some critical investments to enhance diagnosis, treatment, and overall patient care.
As part of the government’s broader healthcare agenda, the Office of the Vice President continues to play a pivotal role in ensuring that strategic initiatives under President Julius Maada Bio’s leadership are effectively implemented.
“The completion of the Burns Unit will not only serve Sierra Leone but also support neighbouring Guinea and Liberia through specialized training in burns management, fostering regional healthcare collaboration,” the Vice President reaffirmed.
He added that his commitment to working alongside Health Minister, Dr Austin Demby, to deliver on the administration’s promise of accessible and high-quality healthcare, demonstrating the government’s focus on sustainable health reforms and improved service delivery for all Sierra Leoneans.
