Two men granted Le 500,000 bail in alleged violent robbery case

Pademba Road Court No. 1 in Freetown, presided over by Magistrate Sahr Kekura, has granted bail of Le 500,000 each to Chalie Kamara, 36, and Razack Bangura, 35, who are facing charges of felony, robbery with violence, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The charges stem from an incident on November 5, 2024, at Regent Village, Freetown, where the accused allegedly conspired with unknown individuals to commit robbery with violence.

According to the prosecution, the defendants allegedly robbed Mohamed Saccoh of a bag containing Le 20,000, a Samsung mobile phone valued at Le 5,000, and a live goat worth Le 2,500, totaling Le 27,500.

The prosecution further claims that the accused used personal violence during the robbery, causing Saccoh actual bodily harm.

Inspector Sellu T.A. requested a short adjournment to confer with his witnesses. Following the bail ruling, the case was adjourned to January 9, 2025.
