Seventeen-year-old Alhaji Fofaneh of Bonjo Farm, Goderich, has been remanded after appearing before Magistrate Santigie Bangura at Pademba Road Court No. 2 on three counts related to wounding and assault.
According to the charges, Fofaneh is accused of wounding with intent, contrary to Section 18 of the Offences Against the Person Act of 1861.
The prosecution alleges that on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at First Bango Farm, Goderich, Freetown, in the Western Area of Sierra Leone, he maliciously wounded Foday George Mansaray.
The accused is also charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, contrary to Section 47 of the same Act. The particulars of the offense state that on the same date and location, Fofaneh assaulted Mansaray, causing him bodily harm.
Additionally, he faces a charge of wounding, contrary to Section 20 of the Offences Against the Person Act of 1861, for allegedly injuring Mansaray with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
When the charges were read and explained to him, the accused did not enter a plea. Magistrate Bangura denied him bail and ordered his remand at the Male Correctional Center in Freetown.
The case has been adjourned to March 3, 2025, for further proceedings.
