Six individuals, Hassan Kamara, alias Shine Face, Fatmata Turay, Brima Kamara, Brima Tarawally, Abubakarr Kamara, and Samuel Turay have been remanded in custody following their latest court appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura at Pademba Road Court No. 1.
They are facing charges related to the murder of James Conteh, also known as James Okeke, in Accession Town.
The accused have been charged with conspiracy to commit murder and murder, in violation of Sections 4 and 1 of the Offences Against the Person Act of 1861, as amended by the Abolition of the Death Penalty Act of 2021.
During the hearing, no witnesses were presented, but Police Prosecutor I.S. Mansaray assured the court that a witness would testify at the next hearing.
Magistrate Kekura denied bail for all accused persons, ordering their remand at the Male and Female Correctional Centers in Freetown.
The case has been adjourned to February 9, 2025, for further proceedings.
