Mamadu Juldeh Barrie, a 22-year-old motor mechanic, appeared before Magistrate Santigie Bangura at Pademba Road Court No. 2, facing one count of larceny, contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916.
The particulars of the offence state that on Tuesday, October 24, 2024, at Brookfields, Freetown, Barrie allegedly stole various parts from a Mazda CX7 vehicle without a registration number.
The stolen items included a cylinder head gasket valued at NLe 450, four ignition coils valued at NLe 600 each (totaling NLe 2,400), four spark plugs valued at NLe 120 each (totaling NLe 480), sixteen quiring system parts valued at NLe 400 each (totaling NLe 6,400), and a sousor valued at NLe 500, amounting to a total value of NLe 10,830, all property of Donald Sesay.
When the charge was read, Barrie pleaded not guilty.
State Prosecutor Balley, requested a short adjournment to confer with the witness before proceeding with the case. Barrie was not represented by legal counsel.
