Mohamed Sesay has been granted bail of NLe 100,000 after appearing before Magistrate Sahr Kekura at Pademba Road Court No.1 in Freetown on charges of threatening to murder, threatening to burn a house, and using insulting conduct.

According to the charges, Sesay allegedly threatened to kill Kadiatu Mansaray and burn down her house on September 27, 2024, around 8:00 PM at Freeman Drive, Imatt, Freetown. He is also accused of using offensive language with the intent to provoke Mansaray into breaching the peace.

When the charges were read, Sesay did not enter a plea. Prosecuting officer Inspector T.A.P. Sellu requested a brief adjournment, explaining that the accused’s elder sister had sought time for a possible alternative dispute resolution.

The defense counsel applied for bail, referencing Section 79(3) of the Criminal Procedure Act of 1965. After considering the application, Magistrate Kekura granted bail but sternly warned the accused through his counsel. “Any further complaints will result in immediate bail revocation,” he cautioned.

The case adjourned to December 16, 2024.
