As he continues to contribute national development across the country, Sheik Alhaji Mohamed Omodu Kamara, aka Jagaban, has donated SLE250,000 towards the ongoing road construction project in the Carlton Carew  community, off Wilkinson Road.

The donation was made during the official kick off of the Jagaban Fan Base Wilkinson Road Chapter’s’ Kick Out Drug Abuse Football Tournament’ at the Carlton community football field.

Jagaban, a Business mogul, philanthropist and stalwart in the main opposition All Peoples Congress (APC) Party, was accompanied by Alimamy Petitio Koroma, former Minister of Works and ex-Ambassador to China under the Ernest Bai Koroma administration.

In his remarks, Jagaban expressed his delight with the tournament’s launch, which aims to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse among youth.

He further increased the prize money, offering SLE40,000 for the winners and SLE 30,000 for the runners-up.

The tournament, featuring 16 teams in a knockout format, is expected to attract thousands of spectators. Jagaban cautioned young people to avoid drugs, emphasizing the harmful impact on their lives.

The tournament is part of Jagaban’s ongoing support for community initiatives, following a similar event held at Lumley Community two weeks ago.
