Freetown Terminal Limited (FTL) has donated food items worth NLe 572,000 to support vulnerable communities within their reach during the holy month of Ramadan.
The donation, which includes 6 (25kg) and 258 (50kg) bags of rice, 106 (50kg) bags of sugar, 131 (20-litre) containers of cooking oil, 160 (25kg) bags of onions, and other essential food supplies, aims to provide relief to families in need as they observe fasting.
This initiative aligns with FTL’s ongoing efforts to uplift communities and promote social welfare, reinforcing their commitment to corporate social responsibility and community development.
Speaking at the donation ceremony, FTL General Manager, Maroun Abi Aad, described the annual donation as a cherished tradition within the company.
“Sharing and celebrating the spirit of giving during this holy month of Ramadan is important. We hope this humble donation will provide support and comfort to the communities surrounding us.”
Similarly, FTL Country Manager, Capt. Fabjanko Kokan, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to continuing the yearly tradition of giving.
“We do this every year, and we will continue. I hope this inspires others to follow our path. It’s a good occasion to share with the community and support those in need.”
Chairman of the Seaside Community, Lamin Koroma, expressed deep appreciation for FTL’s support over the years.
“We pray for the continuous growth of this company. This is not the first time they have supported us, we have benefited from their generosity many times. As a community, our responsibility is to help them grow and protect their assets. We pray that FTL receives the Ramadan blessings it deserves.”
Representing her colleagues, Hon. Mariama Bangura of the Western Area, commended FTL for their timely intervention.

This has always been the tradition. Last year, we were here, and even my predecessors have collected these donations for our people.
