EcoBank launches customer service week, recognizes staff for exceptional service

EcoBank, one of Sierra Leone’s leading banks, has launched its Customer Service Week at their headquarters on Lightfoot Boston Street in Freetown. 

The event, held on October 6th, aims to celebrate the bank’s loyal customers and recognized their critical role in the bank’s success.

During the ceremony, Augustine James Sankoh, Head of Customer Experience at EcoBank, emphasized that this event aligns with the global tradition of Customer Service Week, a time to honor and appreciate customers for their patronage.

 Sankoh revealed that the bank’s theme for the week is “Above and Beyond,” resonates with EcoBank’s guiding principle of always going the extra mile to meet customer needs.

“Financial matters are sensitive, and our customers trust us to handle their financial dealings. This event is a way for us to show our deep appreciation for their trust and patronage,” Sankoh explained.

As part of the celebration, EcoBank also recognized 24 of its employees for their exceptional service. These staff members were honored under the bank’s Customer Experience Award Scheme, which is based on direct customer feedback. The awards, ranging from categories like “Appreciation” to “Excellence,” were given to employees who have consistently gone above and beyond in their service delivery.

“We rely on feedback from our customers to improve our services, and today, we recognize the employees who have made a lasting impression on them,” Sankoh added.

Although the official Customer Service Week will run from October 7th to 11th, Sankoh revealed that EcoBank’s celebrations will extend throughout the entire month which will include various events aimed at strengthening the bank’s relationship with its customers, while also continuing to gather feedback for further improvement.

“Customer service isn’t something we celebrate just once a year. At EcoBank, it’s an everyday commitment,” Sankoh said, promising that the bank will use customer feedback to tailor services to better meet expectations in the future.

He concluded by recommitting EcoBank’s dedication to excellent service: “EcoBank will always be here to serve our customers, and we seek to serve them better in the days ahead.”

Through those initiatives, EcoBank continues to emphasize the importance of customer satisfaction and exceptional service, setting a high standard in the banking industry.
