Mohamed Mansaray, a 28-year-old driver, and Alpha Bedor Bangura, a 37-year-old manual labourer, have been committed to the High Court after appearing before Magistrate Sahr Kekura at Pademba Road Court No.1 in Freetown.
The two men are facing a charge of larceny under Section 26(1) of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the prosecution, on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at No. 11 Johnson Lane, Aberdeen, Freetown, Mansaray and Bangura allegedly conspired with an unknown individual to break into a shop and steal items worth Le13,060 belonging to Kadijatu Kanu.
The stolen items include Le2,600 in cash, 18 packets of human hair, 32 bottles of assorted body spray, one silver memory stick, 29 assorted cosmetic products, one packet of combs, pedicure salt, one blue cup of hair spray, and other items.
After reviewing the evidence, Magistrate Kekura ruled that there was sufficient evidence to commit the case to the High Court.
Both accused persons remain on bail, with the court adding a condition that each must provide two sureties who are gainfully employed, possess valid ID cards, and reside within the court’s jurisdiction. Inspector M.K. Taylor is prosecuting the matter.
