Minister Sarjoh Aziz-Kamara among his family
The Fula Progressive Union Chairman in Kailahun District, Mohamed Jalloh, led a delegation to Segbwema, Kailahun District – to appreciate the work of their son Sarjoh Aziz-Kamara towards national development.
In his statement, the Chairman, on behalf of his delegation, commended the numerous contributions made by the Deputy Minister of Higher and Technical Education towards President Bio’s Human Capital Development agenda. He noted that they have observed his humility, respect and commitment to the development of the country, especially Kailahun District.
As a progressive organisation, FPU acknowledged the charitable works of their son to promote the ideals of his party SLPP and the government, which has earned him immense respect and recognition within the district. He highlighted some of the projects supported by the Deputy Minister which includes the rehabilitation of a community mosque in Gbogbohun village, donations of cement for road construction in Kabama village and an ongoing construction of a three classroom building at Methodist Primary School in Segbwema to support Early Childhood Development.
He pointed out that they were not surprised when the Kailahun District Development Association (KAIDDA) at their Annual General Meeting in Mobai presented a special award to the Deputy Minister who is commonly known as the ‘People’s Minister’ for his outstanding contributions to development projects in the district. It should be noted that the Deputy Minister was similarly awarded in 2022 as one of the First Edition 50 outstanding leaders in Kailahun District by the Kailahun Leadership Awards Committee.
He has made a huge impact on students and young people in Kailahun district and across the country for his sound integrity, commitment and dedicated passion towards national development. Many young people consider him a mentor of impeccable character.
A major highlight of the appreciation by the FPU was the robing of the Deputy Minister with the Fulani Leppi and puto (cultural hat) by distinguished Islamic scholars Dr. Chernor Bah and Dr. Ambassador Ibrahim Jalloh. In making the presentation, the scholars thanked President Bio for a worthy appointment of their brother and son and encouraged the Deputy Minister to continue his good works as the reward in heaven will be bountiful – encouraging him to do more. They praised him for the great sacrifice to leave a lucrative job with the United Nations to work for his people, which they consider as confidence in the vision of President Bio to develop Sierra Leone.
The Deputy Minister accompanied by his wife, family and supporters gracefully accepted the gift from FPU with profound thanks and commended the Chairman and his Executive for maintaining peace, unity and harmony and significantly contributing to community development. He appealed for continuous prayers for the government to maintain focus and deliver for the good of all Sierra Leoneans.
