Brothers face court for alleged burglary and larceny

William George Stone and Ola George Stone made their first appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura at Pademba Road Court No.1 in Freetown on a charge of Burglary and Larceny, contrary to Section 25(1) and 13(a) of the Larceny Act of 1916.

According to the particulars of the offence, on Wednesday, 12th March 2025, at Isaac Renner Drive, First Bridge, Gloucester Village in Freetown, the accused, with intent to steal, broke and entered into the dwelling house of Cecilia Korji.

The accused stole therein one DSTV decoder, one large luggage, one travel electric iron, a small suitcase, a Sierra Leone passport, a gold wristwatch, and other assorted items with a total value of sixteen thousand six hundred and ten Leones (Le16,610), all property of Cecilia Korji.

The charge was read and explained to the accused persons, but no plea was taken.

Counsel for the accused, M.K. Donda Esq., applied for bail on their behalf.

Magistrate Kekura granted bail to both accused in the sum of fifty thousand Leones (Le50,000) each, with one surety in like sum. The surety must be a resident of Freetown and present a valid national identity card showing their address within the city. Bail is to be approved by the Deputy Assistant Registrar.

The matter was adjourned to 9th April 2025.
