Newly appointed head coach of Mighty Blackpool, Williams E. Pennoh says victory over newly promoted Star Sports Academy is a turning point to their season.
After a tough start to the new season, the Tiss Tass boys finally tested their first victory, securing a 1-0 triumph over the newly promoted side 1-0 at the SLFA Football Academy field on Saturday.
For Coach Pennoh: “This win was long overdue, but the players never lost faith. This marks a turning point in our season.”
He urged the fans to be patient and have trust in the new backroom staff, adding that with the level of commitment the executives are showing to elevating the team, they will surely deliver.
Suliaman M. Conteh gave the Tiss Tass Boys their first maximum point thanks to an easy tap-in that sent the home crowd into a frenzy.
The goal scorer who was later named Man of the Match stated: “It feels incredibly good to finally grab these three points. We’ve put in hard work, and this win is dedicated to our fans.”
The win sends Mighty Blackpool FC to 13th place in the standings as they look forward to their next challenge against Wusm Stars on February 8.
