Massaquoi also pledged their unwavering loyalty and commitment to promoting the President and his Big 5 Agenda.
Receiving the donation, National Chairman of the SLPP, Dr Prince Alex Harding, on behalf of the party Leader, commended the Attachès for giving back to the party and for appreciating the good work of His Excellency the President, adding that the support will further strengthen the work of the party’s mouthpiece, making it more efficient and effective in promoting the development strides of the government and party.
Conveying appreciation, the National Secretary General of the SLPP, Umaru Napoleon Koroma mentioned that it is important that Information Attachès from Sierra Leone’s respective missions abroad remember the source of their appointments which is the party, assuring the donation will be put in good use.
State House Press Secretary, Yusuf Ketetoma Sandi, who also graced the event, said that the Attachés have always supported the party in different ways and have always shown commitment to further the vision of the party Leader. He noted that the donation will help to build the capacity of the newspaper and make it a vibrant and credible platform.
Responding on behalf of Unity Newspaper, Editor Juldeh Bah, expressed heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the leadership of the party, and the Press Secretary for their timely support to the newspaper. In particular, he extended appreciation to the Attaches for their continued support and dedication to the party, especially the cash donation which, he noted, will help the newspaper in its capacity building drive so as to enable it communicate the developmental policies and programs of the Big Five (5) Agenda.
It could be noted that over the years, the Information Attaches have undertaken series of other interventions to support the growth of the party, particularly during the last general elections. At their different Embassies, they have also undertaken various initiatives to promote the developmental strides of the government, including the production of newsletters, magazines and other communications products.
