Ecobank Sierra Leone has launched a groundbreaking deposit mobilization campaign titled “Kapu Gentri” to reward its loyal customers and Xpress Agents nationwide.
Speaking at the launch event at the Bank’s Head Office on Charlotte Street, Augustine Sankoh, Head of Customer Experience, explained that the promotion empowers customers to grow their wealth while engaging with Ecobank’s digital platforms. He said customers who build deposits of at least NLe 6,000 qualify for the bi-monthly draw, while those with a minimum of NLe 10,000 stand a chance to win big in the grand draw. Performing at least four transactions on Ecobank’s digital platforms, Mobile App, USSD, or Ecobank Online boosts their chances, adding that transacting at Xpress Points equally provides winning opportunities

Sebastian Ashong-Katai, Managing Director of Ecobank Sierra Leone, emphasized the bank’s commitment to financial inclusion and transforming lives across Africa.

Highlighting the importance of savings, Ashong-Katai noted that higher savings rates in advanced economies enable financial institutions to fund investments and drive economic growth.
“Our campaign is designed not just to market products but to transform lives. By maintaining a minimum balance and transacting regularly, our loyal customers will be rewarded. This aligns with our mission to serve the underbanked and underserved with innovative solutions,” he added.
Kate Thompson, Head of Consumer Banking, described the promo as an opportunity to engage and appreciate customers.

She recalled the success of the previous BOMBA promo, where the winner walked away with NLe 50,000, and promising even greater rewards in this year’s Kapu Gentri initiative.
Sheikh Omar Jalloh, Head of Brand, Communication, and Marketing, announced that the Kapu Gentri promo would run from November 2024 to April 2025. Participants can increase their chances of winning by transacting at Xpress Points or receiving RIA and Rapid Transfer transactions directly into their Ecobank accounts.
Head of Digital Products, Sahr Musuyamasu, further highlighted the role of Xpress Agents, stating that agents opening a minimum of 15 accounts monthly or mobilizing deposits from customers would qualify for the draw.
