Both the Office of National Security (ONS) and the Senior District Officer (SDO) of Bombali District are misusing their offices to satisfy their selfish desires. Since those two people came to Bombali District they have been engaging in dubious acts to create chaos and anarchy within the district. We are calling on the attention of the authorities concerned to tame those two fools and tell them their dos and don’ts. We will resist all forms of intimidation. And whosoever is involved will face the consequences of stupidity, expressed members of the Kargbo family of Gbedembu town in the Bombali District.

The Bombali District Security Committee has placed itself in the state of quagmire after they decided to take a decision regarding a land dispute involving the Kargbo family in the township of Gbendembu.

In a letter dated October 21, 2024, the committee instructed Orange Mobile Company to discontinue payment of annual rent to one Solomon Mansaray, who was collecting the said rent on behalf of the Kargbo family in Gbendembu for the said disputed land.

They further instructed the company to now pay the annual rent to one Pastor Morlai  Sesay, who they said has been declared the new owner of the contested land through a court verdict in 2013.

The intervention of the committee has been deemed bias by the Kargbo family, who are of the view that the said decision has the tendency to tear not only the family, but the entire township apart.

They are of the view that the said decision has the tendency to create chaos and undermine the security of the township and beyond.

Already, tensions among family members are brewing as a result of the said decision of the committee, which has wrongfully transferred ownership of the said property to the Sesays in the township.

However, Coordinator of the Bombali DISEC told Concord Times through a telephone conversation that the said decision was reached at unanimously. She couldn’t produce the contact of the Bombali DISEC chairman when asked.

Meanwhile, the Kargbo family  are on the verge of taking legal action against the decision of DISEC for what they referred to as blatant disregard for the law.
