Hon. Alfred Thompson, a distinguished member of the All People’s Congress (APC), has officially handed over a million-dollar infrastructure facility to Congo Town community stakeholders.
The project, which is poised to be a game-changer in national development, aims to improve the economy, football fare and enhance the country’s infrastructural landscape.
The highly anticipated handover ceremony took place at the Congo Town Field, drawing an audience of community stakeholders, Chiefs, Imams among others. The event was met with an air of celebration as the long-awaited initiative moved to implementation.
The project encompasses the construction of modern artificial grass carpet field, a playground for both games and am sporting activities all of which are designed to enhance the community productivity.
During his speech at the handover ceremony, Hon. Alfred Thompson expressed his deep commitment to national development and the community. He emphasized the importance of collaboration between community stakeholders and private entities in ensuring that the project is successfully executed and managed.
“This initiative represents more than just an investment in infrastructure; it is an investment in the people, in their future, and in the country’s sustainable growth,” said Hon. Thompson. “Our vision has always been to drive economic transformation through large-scale infrastructure development, and today marks a major step in that direction.”
“This million-dollar project is a testament to our collective vision for a stronger and more prosperous community, I have had so many tussle with Freetown City Council that leases the place for 50 years to a church but my community people supported me to do the work and I am glad that it has come to a completion”.
