It was another exciting round of matches in the ongoing Leone Rock Sierra Leone Premier League with the show of the weekend that saw East End Lions overtaking FC Kallon to roar to second place in the log.
The Killers registered their sixth victory from 11 matches played, thanks to a 0-3 thumping of Luawa FC, condemning the CaoCao Boys to their sixth defeat so far in the league.
The Killers star man, Musa Noah Kamara continued to shine but this time he again registered his name on the score sheet just to later receive a red card.
With Lions moving to second place with 22 points, three behind league leaders Bhantal FC, Luwawa FC are just a point above the relegation zone in 14th place with 11 points.
Another exciting fixture was the Mighty Blackpool tie against FC Kallon.
Dubbed the ‘Titan clash’ it was the strugglers, Mighty Blackpool who emerged victorious despite being a back-and-forth affair.
Suliaman Momoh Conteh’s brace in both halves gave the strugglers only their third win in as many games played and despite Kallon FC pulled one back but was too late to salvage a point.
Blackpool, SLIFA and Luwawa are all tied with 11 points and a point above the relegation zone. The defeat dropped Kallon FC to fifth place, six points behind the leaders.
In Makeni, Wusum Star welcomed Freetown City FC, reflecting the tight competition at the mid-table.
FCFC took the lead just seven-minute but the home side equalized in the 22nd minute. Been a tight match, goals later from Samba J Bah and Alie Kandeh Sillah saw the score-line level for a 2-2 draw.
Elsewhere, Bhantal FC ended their 3-game winless runs, by defeating Star Sports Academy 0-3 at the SLFA Academy as Bhantal FC continues to enjoy things at the helm with 25 points from 11 matches played.
Meanwhile, defending Champions, Bo Rangers were healed to a goalless draw at the Southern Arena leaving in 6th place in the standings while Wilberforce Strikers dropped into 3rd position.
